The roots that bind

The Council is proposing to fence areas of the dunes on Port Melbourne beach to clarify access points onto the beach, and to protect the dune grasses. The grasses, some of which are regionally significant, hold sand on the beach, absorb and buffer storm surges and protect the beach wall.
